This year we won 3 Telly Awards for commercial work! Our Parkway Ford “Boss Mustang Superbowl Spot” won in categories for Local-Cinematography and Local-Automotive, while our national SPEED TV spot for Ausley’s Chevelle Parts won for National-Low Budget. It just goes to show that with the right creativity and application, a little can go a long way in the world of television production.
For the Mustang spot, we used GoPro cameras to capture unique camera angles, and I came up with the idea of telling a story based on a classic car show, which I grew up attending with my father. I wrote the script, and the client loved it. They were able to recruit classic Mustang owners from around the region to stage a “Mustang Car Show”, which we filmed. Then we unveiled the new BOSS Mustang which really turned heads! People at WXII-TV, including the General Manager, remarked that the spot was unlike anything they have done before, and the spot was so successful that Parkway Ford continued to run it for over a year!
For the Ausley’s spot, we used photographs of the same make/model Chevelles to create before/after restoration photos, followed by a shot of a 66 Chevelle burning rubber as it launches itself down the road, accomplished with a simple jib shot. The spot ran for one weekend on SPEED-TV and generated an unprecedented amount of new catalog requests for the business
